Associate Application Engineer

The Associate Application Engineer will join a group of IT professionals focusing on application development ensuring development standards and best practices are consistently followed. Jo-Ann utilizes application software from industry-leading enterprise vendors such as SAP, JDA, Demandware Ecommerce and Google. The primary programming language used for enterprise applications is SAP ABAP and JAVA for web development. As an Associate Team Member, this role will contribute daily to the health and welfare of Jo-Ann's IT systems. With a focus on daily support, this position will be provided with opportunities for growth and advancement through hands-on experience. Senior and Lead Team Members will provide direction and mentorship on an ongoing basis.
Application Build - Builds solutions either through application configuration or coding that meet or exceed documented business requirements. Configuration and code development of applications that conform with development standards and sound coding practices.
systems Testing - In cooperation with other IT teams, plans, designs and executes end-to-end tests that ensure solution design and implementation meet or exceed the documented solution requirements.
Systems Support - Provides support for current production systems. Resolves problems and incidents in compliance with established resolution SLAs.determines and documents root cause of problems. Works to improve systems and processes to enforce simplicity, stability and efficiency.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum: 6 months to 1 year of experience in technology field or equivalent work experience.
Preferred: 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
Other Skills
Systems integration experience, preferably with a large-scale ERP solution. In addition to technical expertise, knowledge of various productivity programs is expected (e.g. Office, Google Apps). Working knowledge of various programming such as ABAP, Java, SQL, HTML and Portal technologies.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
