Associate Buyer

The Associate Buyer should demonstrate an aptitude for planning and executing business plans that improve the shopping experience, achieves financial targets, and keeps us ahead of the competition. Can demonstrate the ability to run the shop(s) in Buyer's absence. Fosters teamwork and collaboration that drives for positive results in marketing, advertising, logistics, data integrity, product development, and store operations. Leads by example and is finalizing development to become a Buyer or Manager. This position requires up to 20% travel and may require working on some weekends to meet desired objectives.
Administers marketing and advertising programs. Facilitates the ad-turn in process, including preparation of samples, ad fact sheets, and input into advertising systems that support the ad creation process. Completes ad forecasts, weekly write ups, and marketing / advertising reporting. Serves as primary contact for internet and customer service inquiries.
Responsible for all necessary buy plans and pricing ladders to achieve sales margin, and turnover targets, for total office and area of responsibility with partnership of Buyer. Identify fashion trends and interpret concepts to enhance product offering or customer.
Monitor business results to include product performance, purchase performance, and post event analysis. Provide recommendations to Buyer and category management team (CMT) to improve productivity.
Facilitates milestone process for all monitored activities (business planning, plan-o-grams, out of line, assortment planning, product development/sourcing, vendor management).
Ability to run shop/CMT in Buyer's absence. Demonstrates understanding of how own unit's financial metrics contribute to the overall organization's metrics.
May direct the activities of the Buyer Coordinator. Provide guidance and prioritization of workflow and daily tasks. Partner with Buyer on performance review process of Buyer Coordinator.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Textiles, or related field
Minimum: Three to five plus years of experience in merchandising, assorting, and promotional planning.
Preferred: Experience in Basic, Fashion, and Seasonal categories. Experience in inventory management, space planning, and/or product development.
Other Skills
Strong communication and organizational skills, Ability to problem solve and demonstrate leadership skills. MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
